Information About Comfort Studio
Congratulations on your engagement and thank you for your interest in Comfort Studio Weddings! Costa Rica is the perfect choice for a
unique and beautiful wedding day and we would love to help tell the story of your special day. Here is some information about our
process and policies and the answers to some commonly asked questions.
DECIDING
We understand that you have many options when it comes to wedding photographers. There is not only a wide range of prices, but
there is also a wide range of styles, from fine art to editorial to photojournalism. There are photographers who will be invisible on your
wedding day and there are those who will be orchestrating every moment for the perfect shot. Only you can decide which style and
method is right for you. You should also consider what is included in the price and what you really need. Whoever you choose, be sure
they are willing to listen to exactly what you want out of your wedding photography. And keep in mind that this person will be hanging
around you all day at your wedding, so it wouldn’t hurt if you liked them, too.
Hopefully you saw something in our portfolio that you loved and you were able to visualize how our unique style would translate to your
wedding photos. We encourage you to hire a photographer you connect with. If we’re a good fit we hope it’s because you recognize the
importance of choosing a photographer who will be true to who you are as individuals. Remember that your photos should evoke the
emotion of your wedding day every time you look at them. They should be as timeless as they are beautiful.
What we have to offer beyond our photographic experience and creative style is an eagerness to provide you with the highest level of
attention and service and a collection of images you will cherish forever. We love working with you to customize a wedding package that
meets your unique needs and vision. And we will always make you feel as if you are our only client. We will never be too busy for you
and are always available to discuss any detail or answer any question. You will have enough stress in planning your wedding day, and we
want to create one place you know will be stress-free.
If your wedding is outside of the Northern or Central Pacific Region of Costa Rica, please contact us for a custom quote. We are happy to
travel for the occasion, and we always keep our passports current.
RESERVE THE DATE
If your wedding date is available, you’ll need to sign a contract and send a 50% retainer (applied towards your balance) to reserve it. Once
we receive the retainer, we will not book any other weddings on your big day. We only schedule one wedding per day so we can devote
our full time and attention to you. If you plan on doing a Day After session, this is the time to book that as well.
The remainder of your balance is due no later than 2 weeks prior to your wedding date. We accept payments by credit card (Visa,
Mastercard, or Discover) or electronic check.
DETAILS
We will send you a questionnaire so we can get all of the details of your event down on paper, including specific shots that are very impor-
tant to you.
If you will be in Costa Rica prior to your wedding, we would be happy to come and meet with you to discuss the details in person as well
as show you album and print samples and even do an engagement shoot.
We shoot exclusively digital, using Nikon Digital SLR camera bodies and lenses. Images are captured in color, but a selection of images
will be presented in black & white or with creative toning or fine art processing when it’s appropriate to enhance the image. Each photo is
then professionally color balanced, cropped, and retouched with skilled intuition.
THE BIG DAY
We’ll arrive a little early to look around and see what the site is like, especially if we haven’t worked at the location before. A detailed
schedule of the day is always invited so we can know where to be and when. This is the time for you to have fun and relax and enjoy
your special day!
We go about documenting your event as unobtrusively as you desire. We also make sure to capture every little detail that you spent so
much time planning. We want to be there to capture every moment from the anticipation to the ceremony to your first portraits as
husband and wife.
We always enjoy when the bride and groom decide to see each other before the ceremony as it provides an intimate time for portraits,
however if you decide to go the traditional route, we ask that you reserve some time after the ceremony for portraits of the two of you.
This is a wonderful time to capture the love and joy that you are feeling on this incredible day.
Sometimes the nature of weddings does not allow for very much time (or light!) for bride and groom portraits. In these cases we recom-
mend that you book a portrait session for the following day when we can take some time to really capture the connection between you
as husband and wife. We would be happy to include this as part of your package if you feel it might be necessary.
AFTER THE WEDDING
Approximately four to six weeks after your wedding you will receive your DVD of digital negatives along with information on how to
access your online proofing gallery. Your images will be posted online for three months for you to review and share with family and
friends. You will also be able to order prints and other products online.
If you’ve selected an album with your package, we will design a layout with the images that we think will work best to tell your wedding
day story. Once you view the album design, you’ll have the opportunity to make a round of changes. Once the design has been finalized,
it will go to printing and binding and will be delivered to your door in about 8 weeks.
ALBUMS
An album is the perfect way to tell the complete story of your wedding day. It will be one of the most valuable objects in your home,
and the heirloom that you one day hand down to your grandchildren. We exclusively offer Cypress Albums and believe they are the best
available. They are individually handcrafted from the finest materials and represent impeccable craftsmanship and style.
GOING GREEN
We make every effort to minimize our impact on the environment. Our methods include albums that are animal and chemical free and
printing in-house on bamboo paper. For more information about our green products, our efforts to offset the carbon emissions of our
business, and our support of fair wages, just ask. As we all strive to do our part for the environment, there is always room for im-
provement and we welcome your ideas or suggestions.
