A quick trip to disney
Disney World was not our first choice for our family vacation destination, but when JetBlue started service from San Jose to Orlando for $99 each way, it seemed like our best bet. I spent a lot of time there as a kid, and was kind of excited about taking Tully there. I was a bit disappointed, however, when I realized that nothing has changed at the Magic Kingdom in the 15 years since I was last there. It was actually kind of sad. And, unlike the commercials, Tully did not have that wide-eyed wonderment we hoped for, but rather a mildly amused curiosity mixed with long periods of detached boredom. On the other hand, Epcot was still fresh and far less crowded, so we probably enjoyed our time there the most. Other highlights of our time in Orlando included a fun night out with Joi and Mark of Pennington Photography, a couple visits to a fully stocked American supermarket, and spending time with three out of four of our parents. All in all, a fun time, but at the end we were really happy to return home to Costa Rica.
