heather + chris. arenal wedding.

A couple weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting an elopement near Arenal Volcano at the Lost Iguana Resort, which has an amazing volcano view.  This was my second time in Arenal, and it is still one of my favorite places in Costa Rica.  For one thing, the volcano is pretty cool, in fact I think you would be hard pressed to find another volcano in the world that is as classically volcano-shaped as this one, reminiscent (to me anyway) of the paper maché versions we used to make for science fairs, perfectly conical and with just a minimum amount of action.  For another the whole area is rich with activities from natural hot springs to scenic hikes.  Anyway, it is a less traditional location for a wedding, especially in a country known for its beautiful beaches and sunsets, but I think it was perfectly romantic, intimate, and unique.   Add to that a warm and wonderful couple and clear skies and you have pure Costa Rican wedding bliss.
